The Split in Humanity Merging with Technology
I would just like to share my thoughts about this emerging world where our imagination can create environments but also experiences that can be nearly impossible to the average person trying to implement in real life. I’m deeply interested in what all of you think about this new world given the material circumstances for the average person becoming more difficult to be independent from the privatized market. The following questions are to curtail unscrupulous advancements that technology always holds a potential to sway the public from cooperating and growing at ever accelerated rates.
- With the ability to create any world you want, what world would the average person want to create given the cultural narrative that many westernized citizens have grown up in?
- In the VR metaverse, many average users today are close if not already able to create extreme circumstances that could destabilize positive trends. With much of this technology being owned by wealth based sources, can the quality of the content be steered in positive directions given platform operations are quite centralized?
- Current cultural narratives have been obviously dominated by private market interests which has often led to polarized social and democratic relations. To what effect does a metaverse have to unravel extreme trends that are toxic to nations and individuals?
As you can see with these ideological questions, it is my understanding that technology cannot remain neutral for a space supporting universal principles or intellectual fanaticism. I think it’s prideful for any network or cooperative to think they can remain silent in the face of a growing divide between the power hungry and the public majority. There are many subjects that I didn’t disclose but in between the lines are there, and they relate to every sector of human life currently being made of use through the market of ideas.
I have ventured into the corridors of youth power and have seen the pros and cons of how ideologies can affect the cultural narrative specifically in the realm of controversial world debate which often includes politics. I have seen virtual reality penthouses and nightclubs where young people, even children are able to access spaces that contain explicit sexual suggestion. The conversations are pretty chaotic or rather foolish which I would say is fine in the youth category but it seems to have almost no limits or rather no interest to use limiting features that are available.
Now I’m not the one to tell the youth and the platform creators what should and shouldn’t be done as I don’t think that’s how growth and cooperation work. But for quite some time, the industry of entertainment and politics have been falling short of an esteemed or revered potential to really consider common ground and begin helping those who really need it domestically or internationally and one of the biggest is poverty and homelessness which philanthropy is a joke at addressing.
I know this post might suggest I’m picking a side and I am… but I’m not going to say more specifically where I stand other than what I have suggested in between the lines. I don’t believe it’s possible to have all the answers nor would I want all the answers for the fun in life begets the mysterious adventure to collaborate and experience challenges together which brings new ideas if we are honest and open oftentimes. For the future of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the metaverse, I think there is an optimistic future at hand and I’m happy to hear what others might perceive as challenges in a world of conflicting interests that have certainly had their day with so many of our lives and young ones. Though I know this post may spark great controversy, I believe that current technology cannot exceed its limits without the pursuit of conscious conversations about the leaders of tomorrow bearing the wisdom so needed for today’s collective melting pot.
